Carers from within Australia

by | May 9, 2020 | Australia, Support

In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, we have formed a new model of care. We now offer placements with domestic carers and therapy assistants local to a host family’s area.

Meet Sarah, who used to volunteer in schools in the UK. In Australia she has worked in special schools supporting children with a minimum of 2 severe disabilities, in all age groups. In the school environment she has been an SLSO who greeted the children helped with toileting and then with all aspects of learning.

The carers we find and hire on a family’s behalf can be Live-In or Live-Out, depending on preference. They are available between 20-40 hours per week.

We apply our proven methods of screening to hire carers who are psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, special needs educators and disability support workers with extensive experience. We support you in selecting the right carer, recommending suitable carers and will assist you in the interviewing and selection process, but you know your family’s needs best and the final decision for the right support is in your hands.

Our goal continues to be providing quality care and support to your family and the carers and therapy assistants that we hire share this goal. Our carers are all motivated by the opportunity to learn your child’s therapy programme and implement this into daily life, while providing support with daily living.

To remove the administrative burden of becoming a direct employer, Apex Professional Exchange will be contracting the domestic carers directly. We are recruiting, screening and presenting candidates for your consideration and will continue to provide reasonable support during the placement term.

Are you still looking for support? Why not get in touch today to find the right person for your family?

Meet Rachel (based in Queensland), a nurse by profession studying for a masters in public health.
I am open to giving support to children and adults as I have served a wide range of age groups. In my last assignment, I worked in aged and disability care.
