How soon can a care professional arrive in Australia?
Once a family matches, a care professional can typically arrive in as little as five weeks.
What is the difference between a care professional and a domestic nanny?
Apex Professional Exchange’s care professionals are live-in therapy assistants or experienced care workers. Both are private and provide in-home care. However, care professionals on our professional exchange programme offer many benefits as they provide live-in care, unlike domestic nannies, are qualified professionals with particular care expertise, cost the same regardless of how many children in the family, and are more cost effective than local nannies.
Does Apex Professional Exchange have male care professionals?
Male caregivers are an excellent option for some families and Apex Professional Exchange offers families the choice of both female and male care professionals.
How long can a care professional stay with a family in Australia?
Care professionals can stay in Australia for one year.
Will I need to pay taxes for my care professional?
Apex Professional Exchange can provide you with general advice regaring this but we recommend that you speak with your accountant or tax advisor about your specific situation.
Do care professionals drive?
Most of our care professionals drive, which is one of the benefits of the program. Care professionals have a driver’s licence from their home country and come to Australia with an international driver’s permit. Host families are required to secure car insurance for their care professionals and help them become accustomed to driving in Australia.
Do care professionals pay to participate in the programme?
Yes, care professionals pay a programme fee. The programme fee covers major expenditures and is earned back after a couple of months on the programme. Our care professionals see the fee as an investment in their careers.
Does Apex Professional Exchange provide local support?
Yes. Apex Professional Exchange’s program director and area directors conduct monthly check-ins with host families and care professionals and are always available to address questions and concerns.
